Profile[]

Soulcalibur VI[]

Yi Sun-sin was a renowned admiral hailed as a national hero during the Joseon Dynasty.
Despite a lifetime of military achievements and battles fought defending the kingdom's borders, he is perhaps most well known for his exploits as a naval commander during the Imjin War. Politically, he distanced himself from the Westerners, as his childhood friend Ryu Seong-ryong is a prominent member of the Easterner faction.
In his youth, Sun-sin formed an alliance with distinguished aristocratic scholar Kim Ji-Young, as well as with famed "warrior god" Seong Han-myeong, which served as the catalyst for the strong relationship the Seong family would have with the military. In the time that followed, many of Han-myeong's pupils would go on to serve under Sun-sin, the most promising of whom was none other than Hwang Seong-gyeong, who joined the coast guard. Sun-sin saw great potential in the boy, and entrusted him with the task of seeking out the Sword of Salvation, offering his sword Blue Thunder as a sign of his confidence in him.
While those around him in power continued to view Soul Edge as the Sword of Salvation, Sun-sin is skeptical of the weapon's power, and thus is waiting eagerly for Hwang to return and give credence to his doubts...
