The Force Gauge is a small blue bar that is beneath the player's HP Gauge in Soulcalibur IV. It is used by The Apprentice, Darth Vader, and Yoda for their attacks that require the use of the Force. It is drained as Force powers are used and slowly replenishes over time and when landing successful hits. Once the Force Gauge is exhausted, the character will be overcome by the Force and enter a state of dizziness, becoming temporarily stunned (Yoda and The Apprentice clutch and shake their heads, while electricity surges through Vader's life-support systems).
The Force in Star Wars
The Force, as described by Obi-Wan Kenobi (Anakin Skywalker's former master) is 'an energy field created by all living things that surrounds, penetrates us and binds the galaxy together' and is the source of all energy-based phenomenons caused by the Jedi and Sith alike. The Force is neutral in nature and can be used by both Jedi and Sith, but in order for one to be able to use the Force, one must have a high concentration of 'midi-chlorians' in their cells to access its power as they are the link between the living and the Force.
By using the Force, one is granted near-limitless power, able to bend any aspect of anything to their will, be it ranging from people's minds to the laws of the universe itself. Potentially highly Force-sensitive individuals can heal and cure the wounded and sick, leap structures the size of skyscrapers in single bounds and project energy from their own bodies without the assistance of technology. The 'dark and light' sides of the Force are depicted on how it is used. Abilities that concentrate on positive augmentation, defense or healing is portrayed as light side powers while offensive and destructive abilities pertain to the dark side. One does not necessarily have to be a Sith to use dark side powers nor is a person required to be a Jedi to be able to use light powers.
