This page describes Hilde's Battle Style in each of the games in which she appeared.
Soulcalibur IV[]
Hilde wields a lance and a short sword. Her moveset namely involves jabs with the lance and slashes with the sword, but there are some exceptions. Several of her attacks are 'charge' attacks (Hilde glows briefly while performing them). Her style is considered to be "advanced" and somewhat hard to master. Most of her attacks do not deal high amounts of damage, but often leave the opponent open for more attacks or can be used in combination with other attacks. If Hilde is used correctly in conjunction with her charge attacks, however, she can use devastating combos at her disposal, which mostly and usually lead to ring outs. Because of this, Hilde is banned from use in official tournaments.
Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny[]
Hilde plays the same as she did in Soulcalibur IV, however she gains a new move that gives access to her Critical Finisher.
