Ariadne Angelis (アリアドネ·アンジェリス, Ariadone Anjerisu; Greek: Αριάδνη Άγγελις) is a character in the Soul series of fighting games, making her first playable appearance in Soulcalibur III.
Biography[]
Ariadne grew up being a close friend of Sophitia, Cassandra and Lucius.
One day that both Sophitia and Cassandra were out to fight the Evil Sword, Lucius decided to go help his sisters, Ariadne decided to join him, and even though they couldn't find either Cassandra or Sophitia, Lucius and Ariadne fell in love.
While Lucius and Ariadne were away, Sophitia's Daughter, Pyrrha, was kidnapped, when they returned Lucius and Ariadne decided to stay to protect Patroklos and their home while Cassandra and Sophitia saved Pyrrha, though they didn't know Sophitia was working for the Evil Sword in order to protect her daughter. While they stayed at their house a lot of minions of the Evil Sword attacked them, trying to get Patroklos and destroy their home, but were slain by Lucius and Ariadne.
Through the years that followed Lucius and Ariadne married, and had 3 children: Sophia, Demetria and Matthias. Until one day Lucius and their 15 year old daughter, Sophia, went on a journey to find Pyrrha, but Ariadne stayed to take care of their other two children.
Physical Appearance[]
Ariadne has short light brown hair, pale skin, and blue eyes, and she has a physically fit body, allowing her to perform moves, like somersaults and kicks, with ease.
Personality[]
Ariadne is a is a benevolent, selfless, and kind-hearted character, she avoids fight as much as she can, and only fights when there's no other way to settle things. She also cares very much of her family and close friends

Fighting Style[]
Having trained with Cassandra, Ariadne has an aggressive fighting style. She can attack when the opponent leaves an opening and place a lot of pressure onto them through her aggressive combos, stuns and throws. She combines speed with strength and both of these attributes are considered the best among other characters, However, she has a short range.
Critical Finish[]
Final Crush: In Ariadne's Critical Finish, she slashes her opponent then playfully knocks them over with her butt. And then she sits on the opponent's face with clouds of pink hearts appearing. For the fatal hit, she places her shield over her butt before smashing down once more with a pink heart covering part of the screen.
Etymology[]
Ariadne, means "most holy", composed of the Cretan Greek elements αρι (ari) "most" and αδνος (adnos) "holy". In Greek mythology, Ariadne was the daughter of King Minos. She fell in love with Theseus and helped him to escape the Labyrinth and the Minotaur, but was later abandoned by him. Eventually she married the god Dionysus.

In Soulcalibur IV she wears wears a white and blue dress with long sleeves and a short skirt. She also has a pink belt, tights and short, white and blue boots.
