- "We are all at some point nervous of what may come but to allow it to feed off you would simply be giving yourself to your growing fear. Much be the same for one who drinks too deep on rage to allow it to be false courage; it only breeds recklessness through foolishness."

Biography of Annebella Williams
Born in the Kingdom of Dalkia, Annebella was a guarded child. Even though her family was caring and loving she had always known of her mother to be the drunkard and also how she would act as well. Her mother, as she refers to her, was abusive. The more she drank, the more she struck her brothers and also Annebella as well. Her father, a good man, was away with the Dalkian Army as a Tactician; he plotted points, drew maps, and aided in the triangulation of several ambush points as well as key battles which cost the Republic of Halteese much manpower, ground and also weaponry. This all changed when her father was killed. Her father, a good man, a great Tactician, was betrayed by members of his own in order to save themselves.
After learning of this truth, Annebella abandoned her family. Her mother cared nothing for her disappearance while her brothers knew all too well that she had plotted her leave. They however, chose to stay and live with their mother. The eldest, Octavius, believed that their mother simply suffered from grief, yet Annebella told him that even when their father still drew breath she was no more than the abusive drunkard and at best, a lowly cur of only skin and bones, scavenging what could be found and only devouring or in their case, abusing the weak and helpless. With effort after effort burned to cinder, her eldest brother embraced her and gave her what gold he could muster from their slumbering mother.
In her possession, her father’s sword, and her brother’s letters were what kept her will strong. As she traveled the land, she eventually came to the Welshdat Bridge. All she knew of this area was that the Grandall Empire and Kingdom of Dalkia were connected by this very bridge and that it was also used for much commerce. Seventeen years young she was and a map was her only guide to whatever land she wanted to reach. Of course, she would never trek towards Halteese; she knew all too well what the men of that Republic were capable of. She had heard numerous stories from her father when he would return from time to time and the details were enough to make her stomach reject her supper. They were vile creatures--the Halteese men.
As the stories replayed in her mind, she knew if she were to be captured by them, she would rather be dead than be a helpless sex object. Such tales of prisoners of war made her want to be a soldier; to defend those who were not able to defend themselves and to add fuel to the fire, her mother's antics were a precise reason as well. Of course, her father forbade it—not until she was old enough. With him gone, she had no restrictions except his wish for her to wait until her twenty-first year before taking pommel in hand for her country. Naturally, she would follow his wishes but at this point, she could not.
Putting Welshdat behind her, Annebella made her way to Grandall. She would start a new life and more importantly, she would learn from a man whom her father spoke highly of. As she had heard, he was a master of raiding enemy strongholds in the midst of the darkness and knew no equal in his professionalism. He held honor, respect, courage, and he was a humble man—much like her father. It was almost as if she had been searching for him to be in another body but she knew that was not the case. Annebella wanted to better herself so that she would never be like her mother. If she were to bear children, they would know her wrath only if they had done something wrong or if someone had done something to injure them.
She would be a fair mother if that ever happened. A just woman, and an even finer soldier. Dare she even think, a commander one day? Nearly all things were possible in her eyes and as the Flags of the Empire came into view, she knew that she had not only what it took to succeed, but the very sword that would aid her in her goals and dreams. She would cleave a life of honor and drink in the success of her choices and even more so—Annebella would thrive on the battlefield. Neither of her three brothers have yet to best her when they played by the sword and if her past strength was not a farce, then her life would be lived long and well.
Main Weapons: Spatha & Greatshield
Sub-Weapon: Duckfoot Pistol
Annebella has learned the way of several weapons. From Fencing to the greater of swords such as the Zwiehander to the Daggers that are used in knife fighting. She has taken time to learn all she could possibly learn. Even Surina’s Bojutsu skills are nothing more than a notch under Annebella’s belt and if needed, a skill for which she could use to crush her opponents. Her discipline is of her own—fairly unique and seemingly infinite in not only possibilities but techniques as well.
Commander: Annebella Williams
Arrai, Egyptian and second in command, is just as calm and level headed as Annebella which is why Arrai is second in command. That and Arrai has much needed experience in the field of battle over her subordinates. As a sergeant, Arrai has rank over several of the troops which battle within the war and she is also caable of securing her own unit, yet she chooses not to do so and stays with Relic.
Beyond this, most would not adhere to an "outsider" such as Arrai being their commander.
Her sword skill is blinding in speed and she incorporates acrobatics with her style of swordplay. To make her even more the adept, she scouts ahead of her squadron and other allied units in order to observe the enemy. She then reports back with tactics to bring the enemy down.
The Strategist: Arrai
Noémi once served as a member within the choir which oft performs at the main cathedral of Parousia. Young in years and heavily critical of those whom do not follow her faith (Christianity) she was drawn into this conflict due to her church being in danger. The minister informed her that due to the coming war, she would not sing for the church itself would be abolished and soon destroyed when Dalkia claimed victory over Grandall.
Noémi refused to accept such a fate. Taking up the weapon which Annebella had given to her as a token of her appreciation for lending her aid when Annebella needed it, Noémi would judge those whom wished to enslave her home with foreign deities. In her mind, she was doing God's work--purifying the land so that her people would continue to live in peace and live on to better serve their Lord.
Eurydice is the great granddaughter of those responsible for the construction of the Welshdat Bridge. Feeling an urge to prove herself before her ancestors, she pledged loyalty to Annebella and beseeched the commander to be placed under her command. Despite having her doubts, she allowed Eurydice to give it her all. Eurydice uses a large scale sword which rivals the length of Gallagher's weapon of Exalted. Though it is lengthy, it is also lighter than his weapon as well which allows her to swing much faster.
Despite this advantage, her blade is also much weaker. As a Flamberge, it is not as thick nor as bulky as Gallagher's blade. With that drawback, she serves as Light Infantry bearing no outstanding skill; yet, her courage and dedication are more than enough for Annebella to accept her.

Pfeiffer is a narrow-minded soldier whom thinks she is of the natural selection and prides herself on strength, valor, courage, and so on and so forth. She is resentful against men--especially weak willed ones such as Ky. Annebella is aware of Pfieffer's jealously of Arrai's position yet, Annebella knows that Pfieffer cannot defeat Arrai in a hundred years. Pfieffer deals with close quarters combat and excels in that area.
Taven was a young man to come into Annebella's Relic and as such, she had him stick close by. She could tell by the way he carried himself that he had little to no experience against an actual foe.
A smart lad who knew his game and his traps. He would oft hunt with Arrai and keep those of Relic fed when they were out afield training.
His death was a blow to Annebella which has triggered an innate hatred for her former counntrymen.
As news of this had surfaced Annebella was not enthralled any. She had witnessed first hand what had been slowly occuring and ever since Epistema had fallen she had believed something were amiss with the General and now, the fruit of that for which was once amiss. Playing oblivious to the fact that her long time mentor and friend had gone rogue, she did nothing more than await her orders to pursue the man whom acted like a father to her. Despite her inner despair, she knew she would have to keep herself in line and together for the sake of her squadron; for if the commander showed a sign of doubt, then squadron itself would fall apart.
Throughout Girardot's Rebellion, Annebella used the very tactics which she had learned from her father against his forces and with these skills, Grandallian Forces were on even terms with one whom was once one of their most valued soldiers. In addition to this was the fact that her squadron had recieved a welcoming addition. E'laura had decided to accompany her squadron in the battle against Girardot's forces and with one of the Parousia's generals within her squadron she felt a complete mix of emotion.
Normally she would be rejoicing the fact that Relic was chosen yet, this told her of an underlying truth. After looking to E'laura and her choice of words and actions Annebella began to not trust the general. She had also began to suspect she may possibly defect Parousia herself, yet it made little to no sense. Though with the other kingdoms annihilated that left only one to remain - at least within reasonable distance.
Dumas' domain was no more than 'a miles three' from Parousian territory and aside from that, there seemed to be a mutual understanding between the two. As Annebella recalled they often traded things to and fro. Of course, Annebella has also noticed several of the POW's vanishing without much the trace as well as new prisoners which appear over night. Despite things going on as they were, Annebella deemed this more towards conspiracy than anything else. Of course, that was something which she would keep to herself. At least until she had true evidence.
After Girardot's Death
It was after Girardot's death which she mourned the loss of one she had many times addressed as 'father' and even when she apologized he was more than forgiving of such matters. Though through her mourning she never witnessed much of Arrai, her second in command. Even more importantly as she thought of it, Arrai had vanished altogether while E'laura and Priya's new found allies had also vanished. Not to mention the two eastern females whom held hair which had been the same pallor white as Arrai's. To Annebella, something was not adding up. Asking around and about and also checking records, she found that the records of those in question had come up missing as well as a few others. This was initially blamed upon the Rebel's, yet, Annebella knew better.
It was in the middle of the choir's rehersal which they were both briefed on the next uprising and before this had even reached her, she had in mind whom was going to lead such a bold uprising. Especially since she had not been seen within the Walled City itself for weeks. As she pondered what to do she then recalled that Surina would more than likely die alongside her younger sibling opposed to slaying her. As thoughts of the battle reflected within her mind, Annebella knew that bringing either to their knees would be rather difficult especially with Priya's learning directly from her as well as the late general himself. Surina learned from Girardot and other means for which Annebella knew not. Though for them to think of rising against Strife would have to be something which would drive them to do so.
So without exposing herself or the remainder of her squadron to danger, Annebella kept her head down and allied herself with Strife's Ressentiment. In the coming battle she knew everything would be revealed though, she knew not who to trust in entirety. As she allied with Strife to a greater degree, she was closer to the Emperor and learned things of him. Nothing significant yet, she knew that being this close to him would mean that if the need be, she could kill him if she needed to. With the rising Revolt, she could witness them and their progress as she needed to determine their cause of action. No matter how precarious her position, it was the greatest advantage she could think of without drawing much suspicion.
Arrai and Noémi
Arrai serves as Second in Command to Annebella and with a head for strategy and a mind for knowledge, Arrai utilizes her knavery as well as her surroundings to plot her strategies. She is a woman whom has come in great faith to Annebella's Relic and it was Annebella herself whom was impressed when it were the two of them facing a trove of bandits. The Commander couldn't ask for a better second in command.
Noémi serves as Medic. When Annebella was gravely injured, Noémi aided her and saw that she suffered neither infection, nor death. However, Noémi joined her squadron for her own reason-this reason was to save her church, which Annebella finds odd as well as contradictory to kill in the name of a church, or rather, kill in the name of God.
Eurydice and Pfieffer
Eurydice is the great granddaughter of Heinrich Welshdat, a man whom planned the make and aided in building the Welshdat Bridge. Upon her ardent and adamant petition, Annebella temporarily took her into Relic to see if she was able to keep pace with her subordinates. Eurydice not only kept pace, she also halted the advance of several Dalkian units by detonating explosives and buring most of the enemy forces alive.
Pfieffer met Annebella after she had fought and killed two bandits. After a light tussle with Arrai, Annebella intervened and shattered Pfieffer's armor with a single attack. Arrai had acted as naught but a diversion in order for Annebella to attack. Sadly, due to her immense pride, fueled by arrogance, she believes that she bested Arrai and is even jealous of Arrai's station as Second in Command.
Priya and Surina
Priya Delgado is a fine woman with a kind heart. Annebella herself has taken her under her wing since she had gratuated her training. Or rather that heap deemed an "acadamy". Annebella and Girardot taught her more than what base instructors have. In terms of versatility and wit, that belongs to Annebella; combat and strategy comes from Girardot as well as Surina. Rage and anger also come from Surina as well. Yet, with all the absorption that she is about, Priya fails to see that Annebella cherishes and protects her as if she were her own daughter.
Her father was a friend of her own father. Surina "Chella" Delgado is almost a sister to Annebella. The two argue, bump heads, criticize and the like yet, they respect each other. Despite Annebella's experience and rank, she mows over very few of Surina's choices as she sees Surina as one whom should know better of the situation. That does not mean annebella does not step in to correct her "sister" from time to time; however, she is the eldest child of Sergio Delgado, thus speaking, her choices--at least, most of them--are made with a level head and if not, then her sibling simply needs to be corrected...in whatever fashion needed.
Gallagher and Dawn
Gallagher. Never has a man, a young man at that, been more honest about life. Gallagher has placed his very life on the line in order to stand up for and defend women. He is a good friend and one whom she wanted within her own Squadron, yet, Surina beat her to the punch. As a soldier, Gallagher stands for those whom he deems allies and will crush those whom pose themselves as a threat to those same allies.
Oft a man of the pint, he drinks every now and then with Annebella and it is with him that he trusts most his confidence--secrets by another name. For instance, Annebella knows that Gallagher has his blue eyes fixated one a certain woman; yet, every child who wanders the woods in search of treasure if oft killed by the beast. This is why Gallagher trusts most his words to Annebella for if he chose to brave those woods, he most like would never emerge whole...if at all.
Larrieux was a woman whom has come practically from thin air. Annebella knew very little of her arrival and when she found out, she faced her in combat. This was one of the few times which Annebella was bested. Not in any minor fashion either; but it was one well learned from. Annebella respects the woman and even has befriended her, yet, as she traced her history, everything she found was in more than one place.
Relic is one of the few Squadrons/Paradigms/Units to have all female members as well as a female commander.
Fought Aliyah to a draw and it harmed her pride in no form. Instead it brought about a raw blood-lust which makes Annebella want to cross swords with her more than anyone else.
She is a Commanding Officer with her own squadron deemed Relic. The name is to signify her past and how, despite how she was raised and mistreated, that it is of the past and though her family was driven towards the military, she still holds true to that past for it has not made her who she is, no, it has helped her reach new levels to become far better than she could have ever been functioning on pure emotion.
Arrai is Annebella's second in-command and looks to her as more a daughter than a sister in arms. Throughout most of their time together, Arrai has brushed off the closeness of being called "my child" or "daughter" as she dislikes it.
Pfieffer, a member of Relic and one who reminds Annebella of her younger and far more ignorant self. Unfortunately, Pfieffer clings to that state more than anything and seemingly refuses to part from it. She does not by any means agree with Pfieffer's beliefs either as it would do no good and be the rise of greater bloodshed.
Gallager is one of her drinking buddies and she trusts him for if she over drinks, he will be sure she does not die in her drunken slumber or take advantage of her. Yet, Annebella rarely drinks to excess. On the contrary, she knows of Gallagher's wants -- rather -- his interest in Priya. She offers him advice on matters and believes that if Priya wants him, she will state it. Of course, Annebella warns him of Surina and the fact that Surina will stop at nothing to protect as well as avenge any wrong placed towards her younger sister.
She enjoys teasing Surina over the fact that Raiko is of Exodus when she clearly wanted Raisa to be of her unit. Despite it being a slight mistake on her fellow Commander's part, Annebella finds it hilarious.
Annebella was once charged with information before she became a commander. Though it has been years since then she has not let go of that training or habit. Annebella knows a great deal of information on The Empire, The Kingdom, The Republic and even the small country which was to be constructed in secret. She even knows of the "witch hunts" (as she calls the search for Malfested) and knows that there is far more to them than meets the eye, however, she can say not much on them lest she be struck down for her "rebellious thoughts".
Annebella cares deeply for her squadron and will stand before the firing squad only before being hung from the gallows for any member of her squadron--even if Raiko were of Relic, she would put her life before the blade which thirsted for ending hers. She believes that this is how every commander, captain, lieutenant, and all of any superior rank should treat their subordinates.
