[edit] Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny
He was a flawless con artist. Known by many names, "Alchemist of the Ages", "The World's Best Assassin", "Artistic Genius", "Invincible Duelist", "Jewel Mender", "Merchant from the East", "Miraculous Psychic", there was not a character that Dampierre could not perform.
Little by little, though, people began to recognize him as a thief, keeping him from being able to live his previous life of luxury. In order to stay alive, he began to take on dirty jobs like robbery and kidnapping that sullied the elegance that he mastered in order to enchant the salons.
"This isn't right! I should live a noble life!"
Now, when he looks in a mirror, he clearly sees the shadow has come over him. Because of that, he has decided to wash his hands of his dirty occupation, and use the knowledge he has to do everything he can for the fight against Ostrheinsburg. He believes that even his knowledge of thievery will be an asset if used for good.

[edit] Critical Finish
His critical finish starts with him telling his opponent the tale of his daughter who is fatally ill, and how he could not cover the costs for his daughter's medical treatment. The conversation is fast-forwarded comically while pictures in thought clouds of what happened appear. After the tale, the opponent is left piteous as he/she drops a coin in Dampierre's hand, seemingly "donating." The word "Critical Finish" shows as Dampierre is laughing with his back to his opponent, who is then crying over Dampierre's tale.

[edit] Trivia
- Other than Kratos, who is obviously a Guest Character, Dampierre is the only new character introduced in Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, which is otherwise a portable version of Soulcalibur IV. It is currently believed that Dampierre counts as a main character and will continue to appear in subsequent titles in the series on consoles.
- In some images Dampierre is with his three henchmen Alphard, a burly, bearded man holding a pistol with a hatchet head on the barrel and a small blunderbuss; Ludvigo, a blonde young man holding a sword; and Gisele, a young green haired woman holding a small crossbow and a few cards.
- In Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny's The Gauntlet mode, Dampierre travels alongside the main character, Cassandra, and Hilde in a quest to gather ingredients for a cure for the king of Wolfkrone, who has fallen ill, and provides the main character with advice during fights. Dampierre is also the "narrator" of the story mode.
- A vast majority of Dampierre' moves are named after characters from the Commedia dell'arte, a form of improvisational theatre that began in Italy in the 16th century (ex. "Spotted Arlecchino", "Unbridled Columbine", "Old Pantalone's Ramblings") and places and things from Venice (ex."Canal Grande", "Misty Waters of Laguna", "Gondola Dreams", "Adriatic Pearls").
- There has some speculations that Dampierre will be made downloadable, as a bonus character, retaining his moveset from Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, for both versions of Soulcalibur IV, in the future.
